For over four decades, our family-owned business has been at the forefront of the reproduction leather jacket industry in The Scottish Borders. Renowned worldwide, we are considered the premier manufacturers of top-quality and durable leather jackets. Our expertise lies in meticulously handcrafting jackets inspired by the iconic styles of the 1920s to 1960s, capturing their essence and ensuring they are as resilient and exquisite as the original pieces. Additionally, we have established ourselves as leaders in creating authentic reproductions of WW2 Military jackets.

We believe the golden age of clothing design and fashion occurred between the 1920s and the early 1960s. In contrast to the disposable nature of today’s fast fashion, this era represented a time when clothes were exquisitely designed, impeccably crafted, and built to last. At Aero, we have embraced this timeless aesthetic, and our jackets reflect that. We exclusively produce jackets inspired by or painstakingly recreated from the fashion and trends of the preceding four decades. We cater to modern customers who appreciate the unmatched quality and style of this golden age.

From the very beginning, Aero has only worked with the finest leathers available. Our journey started in the early 1980s with Connolly Steerhide, the same upholstery leather used by prestigious car manufacturers like Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and Bentley. We then led the industry in adopting Horsehide jackets made from the renowned Chromexcel Horsehide from Horween. Throughout the years, we have continued to source and work with a diverse range of the world’s finest leathers. Our collection now includes stunning Italian Vegetable Tanned Vicenza Horsehides and Badalassi Steerhides.

At Aero, each jacket is meticulously handcrafted from start to finish in our Scottish factory, without any shortcuts. We hold firm to traditional working methods, refusing to compromise on quality or take shortcuts. Our team of highly skilled and experienced artisans, including longstanding members and graduates from the esteemed Heriot Watt Textile University, diligently continue the tradition of crafting our jackets with unwavering passion and impeccable quality.

Every Aero jacket undergoes an intensive process. Our expert leather technicians hand-select and inspect each hide, ensuring it meets our rigorous standards. Panels are then individually hand-cut, with careful attention given to matching color, grain, weight, and characteristics. Each jacket is meticulously assembled by a single skilled craftsperson on a traditional walking foot machine, who takes immense pride in their work. Finally, before leaving our hands, every jacket undergoes a meticulous 28-point inspection to ensure it meets the stringent quality standards synonymous with the Aero Label.
